The car was still stuck at Kiambi and we needed to pick it up. Nana and I decided to make a nice tour of it. The view going there is really awesome and we had a swim and lunch at the lodge. On the way back though we almost got stuck with the car in the mud. After getting out of the mud and finally crossing the pontoon we both gave out a howl of joy, we were back on the main land!

VALENTINE'S DAY

Valentine's day is a big big BIG thing in Lusaka. You can find posters all over, suggesting were you and your darling should have a romantic dinner. Porticos (the Italian restaurant) even arranged a fashion show with tall beautiful talian models. Strange concept for valentine's dat, we did not go. We stayed at home on the verandah and had a 10 hour long lunch with some friends. No candles, no roses, just a perfect day.

Rhapsody's is the cool place to have a drink at. It feels a little strange to hang out in a shopping mall though. But why not, there are lots of fancy cars to look at on the big parking lot and it's close to the grocery store.

WE'RE STUCK!

The pontoon from the lodge was broken, or was it the truck on the pontoon that was broken? Nobody knows for sure. But taking the car from the lodge became impossible if we didn't want to wait for a couple of days. Well what to do, the staff at Kiambi gave us a ride with the boat to the other side. After quite some time, when the taxis finally arrived, we all had a road trip by taxi back to Lusaka. All is well that ends well, but there's still a car left behind in Lower Zambezi.

BOAT GAME

What better way to spot elephants, crocs and hippos than from a boat on the river. The boat was almost attacked by mama hippo though.

A BUS TRIP TO CHIRUNDU

To take the real bus (not a tourist version) to Chirundu and Lower Zambezi was an adventure. It had all the classics, the uncertinity of when the bus should leave (we ended up waiting for 4 hours at the bus station), a very intense priest that screamed all over the bus, the smelly man, the crazy driver and all the luggage that filled up the bus..

AT A SCHOOL JUST OUTSIDE TOWN

TUESDAY MARKET

Doesn't it sound really romantic and nice to buy the vegetables at the Tuesday Market? Well, I made a trip there today in a very romantic mood, but my heart got broken. Could almost not get out of the car to go shopping since there was about ten guys very eager to help me carry my bag and to earn a couple of thousand kwachas. I didn't want any help but they did not accept that, so the shopping was not as peacefull as I had imagined it to be. But I've got a plan: next time I'll bring Dillys (my maid), she'll know what to do about them.

NEW VISITORS - NEW ART

The arrival of Ida and Jossan gave me a good excuse to pop by my favourite market in Kabwata. Left a bit exhausted from the bargaining with new art in my hand.

CHAMINUKA

This is a great place just outside town, it has good food and some activites. Ida, Jossan, Mattias and I went for a daytrip. We did a boat trip and a game drive, actually saw quite a few "wild animals". We also decided to do a game-horse-riding to get a closer look at the elephants. Although I can't really say I was riding. I would more describe it as sitting on a horse and holding on. Poor Beauty! Well maybe she didn't really care, all she really wanted to do was eat.
